Platform shoes, whether heels, sneakers, boots, or even crocs, dominate the fashion world with their chunky soles. I am 100% on board with this trend! Being only 5ft, it’s the only way I’ll ever experience average height. Although, I especially love seeing the tall girlies rocking a platform. I have added a couple of pairs to my closet in the last six months and am honestly surprised by how often I wear them. They elevate any look with ease (see what I did there?!)
Platform shoes may seem uncomfortable, but in all honesty, they are the best pair of “heels” you’ll ever wear! A five-inch heel may be completely unwearable, but add a three-foot platform to the front, and you’re essentially wearing a two-inch heel. Plus, platform shoes tend to have a solid thick heel, making them super easy to wear!
I’m sharing three looks with the same pair of Steve Madden pink platforms to show just how versatile this style of shoe is!
How To Style Platform Shoes
1: With a dress.
Pairing platforms with a dress seems like such an obvious choice. While it is an easy combo, you can play it up by pairing the look with tights or socks (one of my 2022 summer-style fave accessories!) One of the best parts of platform shoes is how well they ground any look!
1: Elevate a basic look.
There is just something about a t-shirt dress- bonus points if it’s a band tee! They are simple pieces that can be layered or over anything and can be word all year long. I love a seasonless piece! Platform shoes took this basic t-shirt dress and made it a solid look.
3: Add a pop of color/texture!
Platform shoes are a fantastic way to add of pop of bold color to your look. Because of the heaviness of the shoe, it adds a substantial amount of color, texture and/or print to any outfit. I highly recommend getting a pair in your favorite color. you’ll truly be surprised how often you reach for them.
